Weekly Practice
FALL/WINTER/SPRING SCHEDULEWeekday practices: Currently we hold weekday practices at each of our four high schools – Wilson, Cardozo, Cesar Chavez, and Maya Angelou. These practices are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at three of our four schools. Maya Angelou holds its practices on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.
Saturday practices: Every Saturday, rain, snow, or shine, students and mentors from all schools gather as a single community by L’Enfant Plaza Metro (Maryland Avenue and 7th Street SW) at 9:15 AM for our long runs. Typically these runs last from one to two hours, depending on distance covered. Following our runs, we come together again as a community to share a mid-morning meal, well-deserved.
We look forward to seeing you there. On time.
SUMMER SCHEDULE/
SATURDAY RUNS are more relaxed than our usual weekend runs during the academic year. Our goal is to keep in shape and stay connected. We will run 4 to 6 miles most weeks. Upon occasion, we may choose to substitute ultimate frisbee or some other activity for the weekend run. Maybe we’ll even find a race or two to run.
Each Saturday we will meet at 8:15 AM and begin our run promptly at 8:30 AM. We will gather as usual by L’Enfant Plaza at the intersection of 7th Street and Maryland Avenue SW.
Students and staff, friends and family are welcome to join us on our community runs. Depending on needs of group, we will have faster pace group, slower pace group, and possibly a walk-run-walk group as well.
Don’t forget to bring water. With this heat, it is essential that we stay hydrated.
